Clare’s emotional development is also reflected in the costumes used. Susanne Cave, the costume designer, dressed Clare initially in cool shades of blue, also Clare’s clothes are quite shapeless and frumpy. However as she evolves emotionally, she starts to dress in warmer colours and more textured and softer fabrics. By the same token Eoin’s clothes are initially in cold and dark colours, but as soon as he takes the decision to help Clare on her mission, they become more colourful and cheerful. Also note that both he and Clare are wearing similar orange coloured tops in the final scene when they literally fall into each others arms, reunited once more.
